This project aimed to support the communities to promote conservation and sustainable use of natural resources and enhanced livelihoods options with social justice.

This project supported the communities in Dolakha and Sindhupalchok in revenue diversification esp. through the promotion of ecosystem-based commercial agriculture (ECA) along with the provisions of relevant trainings, inputs, technologies, and exposure visits, and strengthened market system; supported the community forest user groups and the Federation of the Community Forest Users, Nepal (FECOFUN) for sustainable forest management certification; and developed a Public-Private-Community-Alliance (PPCA) program with Aveda and Jiri Municipality in order to demonstrate a sustainable natural products-based enterprises and local economic development model that is environmentally sustainable, economically viable and socially just.
