FSC launches a National Forest Stewardship Standard for Nepal
The National Forest Stewardship Standard (NFSS) for Nepal has been launched by the FSC. The Standard has been developed by a chamber-balanced Standards Development Group coordinated by ANSAB using multi-stakeholder process, including two public consultations.
The Standard was field tested in different forests in two different geographical regions. This standard is applicable to all forest operations seeking FSC certification within Nepal. The Standard applies to all forest types including natural and plantation forests, all forest management regimes, and geographic areas (national and sub-national level) of Nepal.
The Nepalese national forest stewardship standard (English version) can be consulted in the FSC Document Center. Please check the FSC Asia Pacific blog and the FSC website for more information.
The National Forest Stewardship Standard for Nepal will become effective from 30 March 2020.
