Celebrating World Tourism Day 2023 in Nawalpur
September 27, 2023 – To mark World Tourism Day 2023, the Kawasoti Municipality inaugurated its new ‘Tourism Section’ in a ceremony attended by government officials and key stakeholders. The inauguration was officiated by Province Minister Hon. Roshan Gaha, indicating a significant step forward for tourism at the municipal level. A committee was established to ensure effective coordination and collaboration between the municipality, private sector, and local communities. This committee aims for better planning and achievement in ecotourism initiatives. This was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Nawalpur Tourism Association, Tourism & Enterprise Development Office, Nawalpur, Kawasoti Municipality, and ANSAB.
ANSAB played a significant role in providing technical support for developing a action plan for Nawalpur’s tourism sector. The Kawasoti Municipality and the Tourism & Enterprise Development Office, Nawalpur, jointly presented this action plan for the development of ecotourism in the region.
In addition, an interactive program was organized to promote sustainable and responsible eco-tourism. This event aimed to educate the local community about their roles and responsibilities in promoting eco-tourism. A vibrant rally was also organized from the municipality office and paraded through the main streets of Nawalpur, reflecting the rich cultural diversity residing within the Nawalpur district.
The celebration of World Tourism Day in Nawalpur highlights the district’s tourism potential, strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, and engage the community in ecotourism activities that enhances the natural and cultural heritage. The event was a collaborative effort between the Kawasoti Municipality, Nawalpur Tourism Association, and other relevant stakeholders, establishing platform for a promising future in eco-tourism.
