International Tiger Day 2023
July 29, 2023 – To celebrate the International Tiger Day 2023, conservationists, environmentalists, wildlife enthusiasts, tourism sector representatives, and local communities came together to raise awareness about tiger conservation and the urgent need to protect these majestic creatures. The event, held at the Refresh Park of Nepal Police (Community Environment Policing), witnessed huge participation from I/NGOs, governmental agencies, Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Division Forest Office, tourism associations, homestay associations, journalists, educational institutions, and local communities.
The day began with a mass rally to highlight the importance of tiger conservation, and commitment to protect tigers and their habitats. Many attendees sported colorful tiger stripes painted on their faces. A tree plantation program was also organized to reinforce the connection between forest health and wildlife conservation. In addition, blood donation program was conducted in collaboration with the Nepal Red Cross Society, Kawasoti Branch.
